On Friday September 30 at 7:30pm The Parhelion Trio presents, "not how we left this", a program confronting the societal pressures of recent years and acknowledging the collective journeys and transformations we subsequently experienced through music. With the global rise of political extremism and the devastating consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the composers featured in this program address each challenge in their own way or pay homage to composers whose inspiration has been a guiding light. Works include those by Tyshawn Sorey, Lisa Bielawa, Daniel Felsenfeld, Sunny Knable, and a world premiere of Tonia Kos evermore everyday. The trio gives its signature send-off with the ecstatic Music in Similar Motion by Philip Glass.
