When “Yank!”, David Zellnik’s musical about gays in the military during WWII, became a huge hit in Brazil in 2017, David found himself part of a passionate community of theatre makers including George Luis, the show’s vibrant 26-year-old producer. Two years later, George was dead – of a mysterious “sudden bacterial infection”. David returns to Brazil to attend his memorial, but the more he probes into George’s personal life, the more he’s forced to wrestle with his own feelings and fears and the real source of his desire to understand George’s life and death. Part memoir, part mystery – “O Time” explores the space between countries and cultures, language and translation, past and present, truth and lies. Written and performed by David Zellnik, directed by Danilo Gambini, and based on actual events, “O Time” will be presented March 21-23 at Bridge Street Theatre, 44 West Bridge Street in Catskill, NY, as Show #3 in BST’s SoloFest 2025. Bridge Street Theatre is at 44 West Bridge Street, Catskill, NY.
Our mission is to enhance the cultural life of Catskill and the surrounding areas by presenting, independently and in concert with other artists, unique theatrical productions and other similar events unlike those generally available to audiences at other theaters in the region. To bring to light works we feel have been unjustly neglected, returning them to the stage where they belong. To present, devise, and commission brand-new works for the stage. To forge a diverse community of like-minded artists to aid in the creation of our work. To continue to locate and bring to our patrons the finest in local, national, and international talent. And to keep our ticket prices affordable and our work readily accessible to the widest possible audience.
