NEW YORK, New York—LOVING ME, a one woman show by playwright, performer, and producer Rose Kanj is coming to New York City. The production will take place October 25th & 26th at 9:30pm and October 27th at 3pm at The Tank NYC located at 312 W 36th St., New York, NY 10018

Rose Kanj shares her journey of self-love in her autobiographical one-woman show, LOVING ME, told with silly yet vulnerable anecdotes and the music that shaped the person she is today. Featuring original songs as well as familiar favorites from Celine Dion to Taylor Swift, Rose offers a heartfelt reflection on the human experience. Through connection, humor, tears, and absolute terror, Rose faces her internal struggles head on with self-love and invites her audience to do the same.

Tickets are available now for purchase online. Discounts codes are to be offered to students currently enrolled at university institutions and acting conservatories and through specific educational institutions and non-profit institutions.

 

About Pontifex Production

Pontifex Production is a Korean-American company specializing in live performances, films, and acting training, with operations in both South Korea and New York City. Founded by Keeyong Hong and Wonhee Kim, Pontifex lives up to its name, meaning "Bridge Builder," by fostering artistic collaboration between the U.S. and Korea. Since its 2019 debut with 815 Shout and Their Aspiration in NYC, the company has expanded its portfolio. Pontifex recently concluded the Off-Broadway production of King and the Clown at Classic Stage Company (CSC) and is currently finalizing the short film 6'O CLOCK.

Rose Kanj

Writer, Actor, Producer
ROSE KANJ (Producer, Writer, Performer) Rose Kanj is a NYC-based actress, vocalist, and improviser. She is passionate about the art of storytelling and especially loves to collaborate on new works. Rose is a constant learner with an MFA in Acting from Actors Studio Drama School and a BA in Music from Berklee College of Music. She is also a lover of laughter and has completed the improv comedy training at UCB as well as performs with her improv team at Funny’s Improv whenever she can. Select credits include: Emilia & Bianca in Othello (New Place Players); Valerie in the Award-Winning play Record by Eduardo Pavez Goye; and Emilie in The Moors and Brenda in Election Day (ASDS Repertory Season). www.RoseKanj.com | @rose.kanj

Clara Tristan

Director
Clara Tristan is a New York based actress. Born and raised in Panama City, Republic of Panama where she started her training and career. Now, she is in New York and recently became a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio. New York credits include Sassafras and The Captain by Sarah Elizabeth Brown; The Future is Female by Nandita Shenoy. Among her film credits include The Unknown (TVN Series), The Retrievers (Adam Johns). She has received training worldwide with international figures such as Susan Aston, Javier Molina, Tito Ochoa, Ted Gregory, Monalisa Arias and Esteban Roel; all in different techniques for film and stage. Her fascination with the work and creating stories has helped her realize that she has a director in her!


Wonhee Kim

PONTIFEX PRODUCTION, Producer
Wonhee Kim, a South Korean native and New York-based actress, has dedicated her life to the arts. After moving to the United States eight years ago, she earned an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School. Recently, she expanded into producing, with credits including the short film 6 o'clock and the Off-Broadway showcase King and the Clown at Classic Stage Company, in which she also starred. She is a co-founder of Pontifex Production, a company named 'Bridge Builder' that connects the arts between the U.S. and Korea. More info: www.wonheekim.org


Teni Onaiyaken

Stage Manager
Teni Onaiyekan is a Nigerian native with a passion for film and theatre. She is just starting in the industry and plans to work in producing, directing, writing, and mainly, acting. She plans to start her own production company that will operate in the US and Nigeria, creating space for more cultural and original stories to be told.


Ester Wiesnerova

Pianist
Ester Wiesnerova is an award-winning composer, vocalist, and pianist, recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and a voting member of The Recording Academy, contributing to the Grammy Awards process. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory, Ester has performed internationally for over 15 years, blending jazz with poetic storytelling. Jazzwise describes her as “an artist of rare imagination and formidable arranging skills,” captivating audiences with her innovative and distinctive approach to music.


Caya Cooper

Costume Designer
Caya Cooper was born and raised in sunny Key West, Florida, and she has been crafting and sewing for as long as she can remember. When she was nineteen, Caya moved to NYC to follow her dreams of fashion design. This led to costume design and wardrobe in film and television, and Caya is currently a member of the Local 764 Wardrobe Union. Caya is also a seamstress at JulieMollo.com, where she operates an industrial sewing machine to create bags and clutches. She loves getting her inspiration from city life to create personal projects, some of which she has made available on cayathecreator.com.

Brittany Duskin

Choreographer
Born in Olathe, Kansas, Brittany Duskin began performing at age 10, competing in dance competitions across the U.S. She earned a BFA in Dance from UMKC’s Conservatory of Music and Dance and worked with many local dance companies. After moving to NYC, Brittany landed her first audition as a Brooklynette for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. She’s also worked with MAC Cosmetics, Samsung, Google, Snoop Dogg, and Pussy Riot. Now an actor with an MFA from Pace University’s Actor’s Studio, her latest achievement was Associate Choreographer for King and the Clown at Classic Stage Company.


Angela Nativio

Set & Prop Master
Angela Nativio is an award winning Bus Driver and Trainer for the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority in Erie, PA, where she is based. When she isn’t teaching driver safety, Angela finds much joy in creating props and set pieces for local theater companies. She has created pieces for shows such as Shrek: The Musical, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Spongebob: The Musical, and Frozen, just to name a few. Many of Angela’s pieces have been sold to large productions and now tour throughout the U.S.


E.M. Lark

Dramaturg
E.M. Lark (they/them) is a dramaturg & playwright (among other things) currently located in southern California. With works produced and supported across the United States, Lark is beyond delighted to once again support Rose on her journey to Loving Herself. Lark is a member of the Dramatists Guild, and holds their MFA in Playwriting from the Actor's Studio Drama School.


Esther Um

Marketing
Esther (they/she) was born in Seoul, South Korea. They moved to the U.S with their family at eight years old. They graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Art in 2021, earning a BFA Drama and a BA in History, and is currently pursuing an MA in Digital Marketing. At NYU, she trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre in method acting and Film Institute and Stonestreet Studios in on-camera acting and voice over. Since graduating they have been working on everything from films, commercials, to plays. Most recently/notably: NBC's Law & Order (S23), IT Cosmetics, GEICO. They also write and direct! Their film Blue Hour is an Official Selection of the Canadian Screen Award qualifying New York Shorts International Film Festival. www.estherum.net


Jiyeon Kim

Videographer
Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, and shaped by her upbringing in a rural town in Georgia, Jiyeon Kim follows in her father's footsteps as a TV documentary producer. Her passion for creative expression through film blossomed over the years, fueled by a decade of experience as a nurse and former Navy nursing officer. Currently residing in Astoria, Queens, her graduate thesis film "Revolving Door," got into its first film festival at KAFFNY Infinite. She recently completed an MFA in Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema Brooklyn College. Due to her diverse background her strongest asset is versatility.
