The unique and unpredictable dancer/performance artist Anabella Lenzu advises you to "Listen to Your Mother," in the world premiere of a live performance by Anabella and her darling daughter Fiamma, and a film of the same name made possible by a New York State Council on the Arts grant for Film and Experimental Video. "Listen to Your Mother" is the Argentinian native's project dedicated to the lives of women artists who are also immigrant mothers in NYC. Anabella seeks to capture these underrepresented womens' stories to inspire dialogue, appreciation, and social support instead of the ongoing prejudice that is historically placed against mothers and women in the arts
