Last chance to see this amazing production is TONIGHT! Saturday, Nov 17 at 6pm!!
KT is where you get to see the future Ben Platts before you can’t get into their sold-out shows (Dear Evan Hansen)!
Performances are off the charts. The only men I've heard sing like Jesus (Aidan) are Freddie Mercury & Adam Lambert. Judas is amazing. Pilot, Herod, Mary.... could be on Broadway tomorrow. The ensemble and dancers are awesome. Do not miss this show!
This version of JCS has a modern twist (our obsession with technology, social media & celebrity, mobs, Kavanaugh...)
Jesus Christ Superstar traces the last seven days of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Judas watches the ideals he strove for fall by the wayside as Jesus’ celebrity increases. As Judas is asked to make an impossible choice, he is confronted with the mortality of his friend and himself.
JCS features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice.
KT is a professional development company for young performers (grades 6–12) who are seeking a career in musical theater. Alumni include Ben Platt (of Dear Evan Hansen and Pitch Perfect fame), Dexter Darden (Maze Runner, Joyful Noise, & Minutemen) and Bridget Meghan Clark (Doubt, Fan Girl), and more.
Alumni have performed on Broadway in Les Miserables, Matilda, School of Rock, Evita, Billy Elliot, Aladdin, and more. Current Broadway and National Tour performers are in the West End production of Dreamgirls and the Cher Show on Broadway.
Many of the current students attend New York performing arts schools including Laguardia School for the Performing Arts (of Fame fame) and the Professional Performing Arts School.
We received this unsolicited review from Wednesday's show:
Good morning!
I am in New York for a week on business from the University of Edinburgh , Scotland and saw your listing on a random search of " what's on " in NYC . So I bought a ticket and saw the show last night.
I'm in a musical theatre group at home and hoping to do JCS next year as Pilate or Caiaphas.
The show was outstanding, powerful and very moving and the talent on display was awesome ( my American wife has trained me in the correct use of terminology !) .
Better than many professional productions I've seen and beautifully staged too.
I had the pleasure of having a short chat with Caiaphas after the show - a real pleasure.
Particular credit to Jesus and Judas - wonderful to see such a powerful , angry Jesus . I'd not seen a production with a female Judas but it works very well and she has a gorgeous voice and again , that power.
Loved the choreography and commitment of the cast and wish I was 15 again !
Hope to catch another of your shows sometime - it was a fantastic unexpected evening as I only bought the ticket 2 hours before the show ...
With best wishes
Dr B
