Contemporary Modern Dance meets Queer Musical Theater in FRAGMENTS, a night of exploration in movement and song. The show will feature new works by artists whose unique mediums rarely overlap, bringing Ponomarenko's emotionally evocative movement into conversation with Lucier&Rose's intense musical storytelling.
Most recently in residency at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, SUZZANNE PONOMARENKO'S choreography has stunned audiences with its cleverness and organic energy. Her new work investigates the unseen intimacies of relationships and resilient strength of the human spirit. LUCIER&ROSE specialize in queer worldbuilding that depicts boundary-breaking characters and relationships. After a successful run of Xena: Warrior Musical, an action-packed rock homage, they are currently back in the writing studio unearthing the overlooked heroine of Greek Mythology, Atalanta. Like a historic scene from collective memory on the painted shards of an ancient urn, FRAGMENTS invites you to sift through the pieces.
Arts On Site is at 12 St Marks Place, New York , NY.
