Join us for a collection of scenes and excerpts from different plays, all featuring pivotal moments in the characters’ lives—whether revealing something for the first time or bringing them back to life in some way. Or both.

Kind Strangers Collective is an ensemble of theatre artists dedicated to creating opportunities to perform together, amplify new talent, and share the work that excites us most with our community in New York City. EXHUMED is our first production.

Cast

Marjie Shrimpton

Actor, Lead Producer
is an actor, dancer, singer based in Brooklyn. Some favorite work includes The Skin of Our Teeth (Berkshire Theatre Group, dir. by David Auburn), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Past), White Christmas (Judy Haynes), The Bad Years (Kerrigan-Lowdermilk), Aspu at Dusk (world premiere), and her solo cabaret honoring Judy Garland, What Would Judy Do?, which she created, produced, and performed in theaters across NYC and Minnesota. Marjie has choreographed several productions, including Paul Lincoln’s Sounds of the City summer concert series and films with director-cinematographer Julia Discenza. She has also worked alongside director-choreographer Brandon Powers as an associate movement director, including on Arden/Everywhere: The As You Like It Project (BPAC), The Goree All-Girl String Band (NYMF), and Jonah Feingold’s film What Are We? Marjie has a BA in Dance & Human Rights from Barnard College of Columbia University. www.marjieshrimpton.com


Jamie Gore Pawlik

Actor, Director, Co-Producer
is a New York–based actor. She first began studying acting in London, learning Shakespeare under the mentorship of Fiona Shaw. Jamie is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, where she performed Improv but mostly drank a lot of boxed wine. She holds an MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School. www.jamiegorepawlik.com


Jeffrey Grover

Actor, Co-Producer
is an NYC-based actor. He is a member of the Freeman Studio, SAG-AFTRA, and Actors Equity. Represented by Boals-Winnett & Associates and Ingrid French Management. www.jeffreygrover.com


Gina Manziello

Actor, Co-Producer
is an actress and singer recently re-rooted in New York. Theater: Woyzeck (Wilson musical, ETC Santa Barbara), Culture Clash’s The Birds (Getty Villa), BOTH a Beatles Nativity (Broad Stage), Exit the King, Small Craft Warnings, What of the Night?, Under Milkwood, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Midsummer Night’s Dream. Devised work: Caviar on Credit (Guthrie Theater), The Wallowa Project (with Oliver Mayer), This is a Protest of What Happened (The Brick). Opera: Title role in Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s Frida (Syracuse) and new works with the Society for New Music. Sketch comedy: This Week/This Week, The Christmas Day Job (Second City, LA), DeLEARious by Ron West. TV: TNT’s Leverage, CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She has won several awards for her work on film. MFA in Acting, USC.


Eli Neslund

Actor, Co-Producer
originally hails from Anchorage, Alaska, where he started his journey in performance. After he graduated from The Boston Conservatory, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in theatre and film. You can find examples of his work at elineslund.com, including opposite Jon Hamm in Confess, Fletch. Eli believes strongly in creating new work with his fellow artists, seeing as many of his recent projects have been building theatre from the ground up.


Ayla Parsons

Actor, Co-Producer
is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s 2-year conservatory. Select theatre credits include Maria in Twelfth Night, Beth in A Lie of the Mind, and Mina Murray/Harker in Dracula, for which she earned a Best Lead Actress nomination. Her screen work spans multiple indie films, including Validation Theory, nominated for Best Short at multiple film festivals, with her role as Joanie securing a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.


Naama Potok

Actor, Co-Producer

Derek Speedy

Actor, Co-Producer
is a NYC-based actor, singer, and wine nerd. His work has been seen at Asolo Rep, Williamstown Theater Festival, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Harvard University, Gloucester Stage, Athens Theatre Group, the theatre company, 54 Below & Greenroom 42, among others. Favorite credits include: Lifespan of a Fact (Jim Fingal), Tartuffe (Tartuffe), Into the Woods (The Baker), Romeo & Juliet (Tybalt), and several characters as a four-year cast member of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, among others. Next up: I Killed Penelope Cruz by Alex Ferris at New York Theatre Festival, February 2025.


Hamid Tavakoli

Actor, Co-Producer
is an actor with a diverse range of credits in both theatre and film. He is known for his role as Konstantin in The Seagull. His film work includes Ivan in Manhatta, which has been featured at several film festivals, as well as Jimmy in An Unexpected Visit and Henry in It Was Wrong of Me to Touch Your Butt on the L.
