An opportunity to see rarely performance dances by great modern dance pioneer Charles Weidman. The program will feature the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble in two major Weidman works, both staged by Gail Corbin: Lynchtown (1936), and excerpts from Bach's Christmas Oratorio (1934); Men's Dance from New Dnace (1936) performed by Alex Clayton, a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company; and Danse Americaine (1923), created by Ted Shawn for Weidman while he was a member of the Denishawn company.
