Inaugurated in September 2003, Dance Conversations is a free
performance and discussion festival. Dance films were added in 2011.
This season, Nina Winthrop and Taimi Strehlow curate the series. Dance
Conversations presents works-in-progress by dance artists
experimenting with new ideas and new forms. Each performance event in
the series features the works of 4 emerging and mid-career
choreographers. Film nights feature over an hour of dance films by
emerging and celebrated filmmakers. Each performance is followed by an
open discussion between the artists and the audience, moderated by
guest choreographers and other leaders in the field of dance.
