On November 17th, at 6:30 pm come celebrate the music of the late Aldemaro Romero, Sr. at Baruch Performing Arts Center in the heart of Manhattan with a Venezuelan Fiesta. The evening will feature music by the late composer and bandleader who brought Latin American music into the mainstream with his wildly popular RCA recording, "Dinner in Caracas" in the 1950's. Pianist and singer Selene Quiroga performs music from her upcoming CD, "Natural no Literal: A tribute to Aldemaro Romero", together with an all-star lineup of musicians.
Aldemaro Romero, Jr - Romero's son and Dean of Baruch's Weissman School of Arts & Sciences - hosts the evening and conducts the band.
