ABOUT THIS SHOW
Beggars Rain is an experimental monologue in which writer/actor/director Robert Firpo-Cappiello portrays a protagonist known only as ‘‘Dooley’’ and a rich supporting cast of misfits, outcasts, heroes, and villains across Depression-era America. The piece veers from verse to vernacular, drawing on Elizabethan influences, the blues tradition, and early 20th-century American literary techniques to forge a unique voice suited to the brutality and tenderness of life on the road in the late 1930s.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Robert Firpo-Cappiello performed his 10-minute coming-of-age monologue Where We Put Frankie as part of the 2015 Bad Theater Fest last fall.
