AND SO YOU SEE... OUR HONOURABLE BLUE SKY AND EVER ENDURING SUN... CAN ONLY BE CONSUMED SLICE BY SLICE... NEW YORK CITY PREMIERECo-presented with Crossing The Line (FIAF)In her New York City premiere, co-presented by French Institute Alliance Franaise (FIAF)s Crossing The Line Festival, famed South African choreographer Robyn Orlin will present the seasons opening main stage performance, September 22-24. The piece And so you see our honorable blue sky and ever enduring sun can only be consumed slice by slice features Johannesburg-born actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, and performance artist Albert Ibokwe Khoza in a powerful solo performance. The work was created in response to South Africas recent celebration of 20 years of freedom and contains Orlins trademark mix of forms, expressions and genre. Orlin describes the performance as an ironical playful body, caught between sin, transformation, decay and brilliance, using the seven deadly sins, on a journey through a requiem to humanity with the third world still on stage and the first world paying to be part of the show Featuring costume design by Marianne Fassler and lighting by Las Foulc. An ironical playful body, caught between sin, transformation, decay and brilliance, uses the seven deadly sins, on a journey through a requiem to humanity with the third world still on stage and the first world paying to be part of the showThink of this piece as a requiem to humanity.-Robyn Orlin
