Alessandra Corona Performing Works is proud to present a stunning evening of contemporary dance featuring three compelling new works: Fervida, Rough Surface and Status Quo. This captivating program highlights the artistry of choreographers Francesca La Cava, Alessandra Corona, and Simon Kuban, with performances by an exceptional ensemble of dancers.
Program
Fervida
Choreographed by Alessandra Corona in collaboration with the Company
Fervida delves into the complexities of human emotions and imagination. With fluid, evocative movement, this piece examines how our inner worlds shape communication, relationships, and self-discovery. Corona's choreography invites audiences to reflect on love, conflict, and the intricate connections that bind us together.
Rough Surface
Choreographed by Francesca La Cava in collaboration with the Company
Inspired by the ancient, millennial stones of Sardinia, Rough Surface explores the heart of a people deeply connected to their land and heritage. These stones, which "have a soul, memory, and elasticity," as noted by artist Pinuccio Sciola, evoke the rhythm and life of generations past. Through innovative choreography, La Cava and the Company bring these stones to life, presenting a visceral and transformative dance experience.
Status Quo
Choreographed by Simon Kuban
In Status Quo, Kuban challenges audiences to confront the dynamic nature of change. This powerful piece encourages the disruption of complacency, embracing transformation through creative destruction as a pathway to personal and collective evolution.
Performers
The program features exceptional performances by Alessandra Corona, Maria Vittoria Villa, Brian Castillo, William Valles, Halle Augenstein, Lucia Flexer-Marshall, Nicolas Fiery, Juan Viveros, Madelyn Wansong, and Madeline Burr.
