Marianne Ryan’s new one-woman play, 4908 Awakenings, an official selection for The Spark Theater Festival NYC. Performance on March 8th at 2pm, at 312 West 36th Street, 3rd floor NYC. Running Time 60 Minutes and will be followed by an audience talkback with the playwright and director.
4908 Awakenings, One woman’s journey through her life as she grapples with the trauma of growing up with her sister who has Schizophrenia in order to encourage conversations for families & caregivers.
Witnessing the family’s tenacity and resilience to create joy, hope and love within their chronic grief is transformative. We’re not alone.

Directed by Janine Squillari. She has written and performed her offbeat comedy and shows throughout NYC. Janine loves exploring the topics of humanity and insanity and how those show up in our everyday lives. Past shows include “I Need a Guy Who Blinks” at Paradise Factory Theater, “Cats Without Legs” with Carolyn Kitay at The Bowery Poetry Club, and “Insanity” at the 6 & B Garden. This is Janine’s directorial debut.
Written and performed by Marianne Ryan. Ms. Ryan is an actor, singer & dancer. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She is a proud member of AEA & SAG-Aftra unions and The League of Professional Theatre Women. Her work has been seen in a number of our historical theatres across the country, as well as in NY at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe & HERE. This is Marianne’s debut as a playwright.
The festival is produced by Emerging Artists Theater, an award-winning theater company known as an incubator for the newest voices, diverse playwrights or newest works. During a 30 year history, Emerging Artists has premiered over 2,000 new works and also garnered a Drama Desk Nomination, and received the American Theatre Wing Grant Award for Consistent commitment to Excellence in Theatre.
