3rd Gen - A Survivor's Story
3rd Gen is a series of dance memoirs commemorating personal survival stories from the Second World War and the Holocaust. It portrays these events through a combination of dance, live music, and video. After a successful 20 minute debut in 2023 at 'Spark - Emerging Artist Festival', the fully developed 60 minute show will get its - NYC Premiere!
As a third-generation descendant, it is my mission to preserve these narratives and honor the resilience of Holocaust survivors, ensuring that these atrocities will be remembered and never repeated again. These performances serve to honor the memory of those who suffered and to educate future generations about the importance of empathy, courage, and hope.
Each show will be based on true events as told by the survivors themselves and will contain personal interviews and recordings, putting a face and voice behind each story. This particular piece is inspired by my grandparent's survival story and personal experiences.
