A singing competition unlike any other -- in which acting counts as much as vocal talent. Open to the public in New York City for the first time, the finals showcase eleven exceptional singing actors vying for a top prize of $20,000. Contestants show they can do it all by presenting four contrasting theatrical songs and arias. See why Opera News says "no vocal contest better targets today's total-package talents!" The Lotte Lenya Competition is a program of the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music. Finals adjudicated by all-star jury comprising Phillip Boykin, Robin Guarino, and Jeanine Tesori. Friday, May 6th, beginning at 1:00 PM. Ticket holders may come and go as they please.
