#theatrecompany Presents Will Eno's MIDDLETOWN For A One-Night-Only Benefit For Suicide Prevention Image

#theatrecompany will present a reading of Will Eno's Middletown at The Harlem YMCA's Little Theater on September 14th, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Co-Artistic Director AC Horton will direct this deeply moving and funny play, in #theatrecompany's first production in New York since Requiem for Millennials at Dixon Place in October 2016.

Tony nominee Marla Schaffel will play the leading role of Mrs. Swanson, joined by Bruce Jones (Daniel McCoy's Dick Pix), Tina Stafford (Once, National Tour), as well as Tony-Award Winning Artistic Director of The Mirror Theater LTD, Sabra Jones. Landon Hawkins will join the cast as John Dodge for his second Will Eno play with #theatrecompany, the first being Eno's one-man show, Thom Pain (based on nothing), which was presented at The Know Theatre of Cincinnati in 2016.

Middletown is an elegiac and whimsical play that explores the strange beauty of life and loneliness. As a friendship emerges between longtime resident John Dodge and new arrival Mary Swanson, the lives of the citizens of Middletown intersect in peculiar and poignant ways in a journey that takes them from the local library to outer space and points between.

The Harlem YMCA is located on 80 West 135th Street, and the show will be presented in The Little Theater. Doors will open at 7:00 PM for a 7:30 PM show. All proceeds for this one-night-only benefit will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Tickets are ten dollars and are available to purchase online at https://www.onthestage.com/show/hashtag-theatre-company/rights-pending. Patrons also have the option of donating more to AFSM in addition to their ticket online, if they so choose.

"Through some miracle, we've been granted the rights to this brilliant play, and have been generously donated the use of The Little Theatre," says Co-Artistic Director, Katie Langham. "There is no better place to present this piece that celebrates and explores the power of community for such an important cause with such an amazing cast. We are incredibly grateful and excited to share this with the Harlem community."
