New from the creator of last year's award-winning Phone Whore, slut (r)evolution merges memory and manifesto to explore incendiary events from Cameryn Moore's very sexual life. How did it feel? What the hell was she thinking? And how will it affect tonight's hook-up? slut (r)evolution is coming to New York City for two nights only, November 18-19, at the Brick Theater, 575 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn.
While touring Phone Whore last summer, writer and performer Cameryn Moore talked about sex all the time with a mainstream public that, for the most part, was unaccustomed to thoughtful discourse about sex for pleasure. slut (r)evolution is her artistic contribution to this discussion, going beyond Phone Whore to talk about the real-life impact of following one's sexual bliss. Fantasy and fetish of course have a place in slut (r)evolution, but the show is firmly rooted in the physical sensations and emotional complications of going after and getting sex on demand. slut (r)evolution received a Best of Fest award at the 2011 Winnipeg Fringe Festival and oversold its entire nine-show run in Calgary this summer.
Cameryn has taken both of her one-woman shows out on the road this year, with over 80 performances in 31 cities. Traveling 12,000+ miles and living out of her 1991 Toyota Corolla, Cameryn is truly dedicated to instigating intelligent revisioning of sex through theater. "What's out here is not enough. I want to get people thinking outside the box. Hell, I want to blow that box wide open."
slut (r)evolution plays at the Brick Theater November 18 and 19 at 10:30pm both nights., with doors opening at 10 . Tickets are $12/adv. (available only at bricktheater.com), and $15/door.
