The New York International Fringe Festival will present the world premiere of bombs in your mouth, written by Rude Mechanicals member Corey Patrick and directed by Joseph Ward (A Modest Adjustment at Ohio Theater/Ignite Festival, On the Razzle and Can-Can at Williamstown). bombs in your mouth is produced by LAByrinth Theater Company member Justin Reinsilber. Performances run from August 10th to 24th, 2007 at the Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in NYC.
"bombs in your mouth was developed on NYC's 8th Street in the former apartment of Jimi Hendrix. Its creative process echoed the collaborative tradition of The Joint Stock Company. bombs in your mouth centers around estranged half-siblings Danny and Lilly, who haven't spoken for five years. While Lilly pursued a lofty advertising career in Manhattan, Danny took care of their abusive, insane father in Minnesota, building up mountains of resentment in the process. The death of their father reunites Danny and Lilly, forcing them to hash out their differences in a beer and Jell-O filled kitchen. When it comes to family, anyone or anything is fair game," as described in press notes.
Corey Patrick's first play, long way back, was produced at the Fringe in 2001. His play, Later Than Before, has been work-shopped by the LAByrinth Theater Company and was given a reading by the Rude Mechanicals Theater Company. He is a member of the Actor's Studio Playwright/Director's Workshop. He was recently named Managing Director of The Rude Mechanicals Theater Company.
The 2-member cast includes Cass Buggé and Corey Patrick. Cass Buggé appeared in RatFace at the 2005 Fringe (New York Magazine Honorable Mention). She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the William Esper Studio. Patrick's acting credits include My Renaissance Faire Lady (Ontological Theatre) and Long Live Tantalus (2002 Fringe).
The production and design team consists of Dan Hansel (Lighting Design), Amy Stearley (Costume Design) and Abigail Wesley (Stage Manager).
