"Innovative Theatre Award" nominee WhiteListed Theatre Company presents the NYC premiere of Dejan Dukovski's Lost In Space, directed by award winning Bulgarian director Petar Varbanov, today, March 21-April 6, 2014.
Set in 1944 Eastern Europe, Lost In Space tells the story of six diverse characters hiding in an abandoned mine during World War II. Gypsy performer 'Maria Lili Marlene Dietrich', former Nazi turned right-winger 'Adolph', marijuana-addicted communist 'Christian', mushroom-addicted Nazi 'Otto' and homosexual lovers 'Benjamin' and 'Vincenzo' live out their days in hallucinations, fleeting moments of fancy and recollections of past glory. When 'Rick', a fast talking African-American items dealer appears and offers them a way to escape the mine, the characters must choose between their isolated comfort or an uncertain fate in a war-torn world.
"Belgrade Trilogy established us as the only theatre company in New York City fully dedicated to producing modern Eastern European playwrights. I believe that staging Dejan Dukovski's work will be the beginning of ourFor tickets, visit https://thewhitelisted.webconnex.com/lostinspace.
