A timeless tale turned Broadway hit, THE SECRET GARDEN is the final production of the White Plains Performing Arts Center's 2011-2012 Mainstage season. Its run has been extended to run May 11 through May 27. This award winning family musical is based on the beloved classic novel of the same name, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. THE SECRET GARDEN features Steve Tewksbury (Broadway: PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and MISS SAIGON) and Kristoffer Lowe (Broadway: ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY and CHESS in CONCERT).

This enchanting children's literature classic is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of 'Night Mother. Orphaned in India, 11 year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers", spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

Tickets, $40 ($30 for high school age patrons or younger), are available online at www.wppac.com, or by calling 914.323.1600. You may also visit the WPPAC box office Monday-Friday between 11 am and 5 pm.
