Little Stories, takes a fresh and zany look at some uncharted territory of The First Edition of The Brothers Grimm in this month's NY International Fringe Festival. Unearthing and dramatizing beloved tales takes a team of professionals who can bring 21st Century creativity to the stories while retaining integrity to moral tales of such fame. To add to such elements, the production's creative team includes Professional Storyteller and Actress Getchie Argetsinger, and Obie Winning Actress and Puppet Designer Jan Leslie Harding.

With nearly a half century combined experience, these women have provided the production with invaluable insight to their respective fields. Jan Leslie Harding has been working with and around puppets for decades. Whether it be with Richard Foreman or Julie Taymor, Ms. Harding is fluent in the language of puppetry and is responsible for the unique relationship between Little Stories' puppets and their human counterparts. Ranging from ghosts to giant birds, Harding's visual craftsmanship and imagination are on full display at every turn as the fairy tales are brought to life.

Getchie Argetsinger, has been telling tales to audiences for decades as one of the featured storytellers for the New York Public Library. As an actress, Getchie has been seen Off Broadway (Kathy & Mo Show) and on National Tour (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead). In Little Stories, Argetsinger transforms from moment to moment throughout the show to better adapt to each tale. In a moment out of character, she tells us a bit more about the importance of all stories.

"Our culture is our story", Getchie says, "I think stories help us make sense of the world and remember our humanity. When stories move us, we are transformed into wise, compassionate children - with unfiltered awe - full of both joy and sorrow at the human condition."

Using a 21st Century lens, a band of traveling players, and an entirely upcycled / repurposed aesthetic theme, Little Stories proves what was old is new again in design elements, devices utilized, and the source material itself. Also notably featured in the show are costumes by recent NYIT Award Nominee Jennifer Jacob.
