BroadwayWorld has just learned that "Cuckold" written by SMASH and ROCK OF AGES star Wesley Taylor and directed by Gregg Wiggans (SMASH, HOW TO SUCCEED) has been accepted into Manhattan Repertory Theater's 2015 One Act Competition!

Set in eighteenth century England, the play tells the story of a man who hires an illustrious scribe to write a character for his wife, who dreams of acting on the stage. The esteemed poet's extra stipulation is to bed the actress in her own home. During the throws of passion, the cuckold-husband finds the manuscript and starts reading aloud. The beautiful recitation makes the playwright suddenly realize he's been writing for the wrong person and the cuckold becomes his new muse.

Performances will take place on June 16-19, and if chosen as a finalist, the play will be performed on June 31 and July 1.

No casting has been announced yet, but BroadwayWorld will keep you updated.
