The World Premiere of Whore will play at The Paradise Factory Theatre, March 28 - April 13, with Opening Night slated for March 28. The production is directed by Lindsey Hope Pearlman and features original music by Suzanne Tufan.
Whore is a solo theatre piece telling a one of a kind story of survival, healing and transformation. It chronicles one woman's journey to womanhood; revealing how misogyny and prejudice bled into her childhood and young adult life. Whore will combine original music, movement, and multimedia to express the struggles, heartbreaks and triumphs of what it means to fall apart into many pieces and then put yourself back together again to become whole.
The production features a woman addressing her unique and complex story surrounding the topic of femininity and what it means to become a woman in the world: exploring her own personal history to inspire a deeper look into our own misconceptions about sex, sexuality, and femininity.
Performed and created by Suzanne Tufan (Lady Monmouth,The Picture of Dorian Gray/The Heights Players.)
Associate Producer Kimberly Dillon.
The creative team includes scenic and video design by Ingrid Larson, and lighting design by Elizabeth M. Stewart.
