Meet the Burnett Family: three generations of born and bred small-town Texans. Whether they've bought into life in Paducah or have chosen to run from it, all of them have long been set in their ways, but an untimely death of a young cousin forces everyone to reevaluate. Will they soldier on as before, or will they change?

Playwright, Mandy Murphy will have her outstanding work in the She NYC Summer Festival for the second year in a row. This summer, Kayla Friend will be directing Murphy's play Valer in the 2018 SheNYC theater festival. Friend's recent credits include The Shadowlands at LaMaMa and Going South at the Dixon Place.

The official cast of Valer is packed with stars including SheNYC veteran Gabrielle Wagner who will be playing Margaret "Maggie" Burnett. Wagner's impressive list of credits includes appearances on Mad Men, Wilfred, and Firefly. Also joining the Burnett family are Brad Makarowski playing Frank Burnett, Chase Naylor playing Carl Burnett, Sharlene Hartman Playing Carla Sue Burnett, Steve Shoup playing Floyd Burnett, Ginna Doyle Playing Kendra Burnett. The rest of this incredible cast includes Marie Elena O'Brien as Wanda Rickard, Jennifer Bareilles as Suzannah McCoy, Katy Wilson as Brittany McCoy, and Peyton Michelle Edwards as Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rickard.
