Untitled Theater Company #61 invites you to take a journey to the dark side of a tormented psyche in RUDOLF II, an intimate drama of delusion, science and sexual experimentation. Written by Edward Einhorn and directed by Henry Akona, the play will have its world premiere at the Bohemian NationAl Hall, introducing the newly renovated Czech theater and cultural space, once the home of the Manhattan Theater Club.
Set in 1600 Prague, this world premiere drama tells the story of Emperor Rudolf II, a bisexual, bipolar ruler with a passion for science, art, and sexual experimentation. He made Prague into one of the intellectual centers of the world, favoring the pursuit of knowledge above all else. However, his increasing bouts of paranoia and his obsession with his valet - a converted Jew - threaten to undermine his rule and destroy everything he's worked for.Running through March 28th, RUDOLF II will be performed at the Bohemian NationAl Hall, located at 321 East 73rd Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenues). Show times are Friday, March 5th, Tuesday, March 9, Saturday, March 13, Wednesday, March 17, Thursday, March 18th, Saturday, March 19th, Tuesday March 23, Thursday, March 25th and Sunday, March 28th. All show times are at 7pm, except for the performance on Sunday, March 28th, which is at 5pm.

Previous plays include the Off-Broadway production of Fairy Tales of the Absurd, the calypso musical version of Cat's Cradle, and, most recently The Velvet Oratorio, seen at Lincoln Center. He has also curated numerous festivals, including the Vaclav Havel Festival, the NEUROfest, and the Ionesco Festival. He is also the published author of numerous children's books and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Association for Jewish Theatre.Videos
