In anticipation of its upcoming five-year anniversary, The Ume Group will present "Dream Dances," its first in-residence feature-length performance at Grace and St. Paul's Church this March.
Directed by Producing Artistic Director Jordan Rosin, with assistance from Co-Choreographers Christian Leadley and Yokko, "Dream Dances" is a devised show created and performed by The Ume Group ensemble members Margot Bennett, Kate Douglas, Byron Hagan, Mike McNulty, Fabio Motta, and Keelie A. Sheridan. "Dream Dances" explores the actual dreams of its performers, combining the practices of butoh dance, gymnastics, yoga nidra, and dream journaling. The show runs March 5-21, 2015. The Ume Group is a physical theatre company that has produced shows that have appeared at the Irondale Center (Brooklyn), the Hollywood Fringe Festival, the CoolNY Dance Festival and FringeNYC.
