Back when Marty McFly went 'Back to the Future' in that iconic film series, October 21st, 2015 seemed like a lifetime away. But now, 30 years later, the date has arrived for real and the wacky folks at UNAUTHORIZED! think they have the perfect way to mark the historic day.
Thanks to Emerging Artist Theater's New Works Festival, UNAUTHORIZED! THAT 80'S TIME TRAVEL MOVIE is back for two performances tonight, October 21st at TADA! Theater, 15 West 28th Street, in New York, NY.
Featuring a completely original, hysterical book and lyrics by Christopher W. Barnes and an original score by Ryan Mercy, THAT 80'S TIME TRAVEL MOVIE is everything you could wish for in a parody musical of everyone's favorite 80's movie. It's the story of a boy who inadvertently travels back in time, alters the future, and, with the help of his scientist friend, has to make it right and find a way back to his time period. Only this time there's a singing and dancing Delorean!
Co-Produced by UNAUTHORIZED!, Barnes and Mercy, and Christine Pynn, the cast features a stellar cast of comedians: Matt Rogers as Marty McFly, Pat Swearingen as Doc Brown, Kathleen Armenti as Lorraine Baines, Nikita Burdein as George McFly, Stephanie Holmes as Biff, and Julie Feltman as Jennifer. The ensemble includes Morgan Ferretti, Jane Kehoe, Aubrey Kyburz, Heather Jewels, Adrian Sexton, and Kevin Sean.
THAT 80'S TIME TRAVEL MOVIE was developed at The People's Improv Theater as the first in a six show series of brand new musical parodies based on well known movies, each voted on by their fans, then written, rehearsed, and mounted in about a month.
