Tribes Players presents TV IN MY BONES, by C.S. Hanson, directed by Stephen Cedars, August 9 through 13, 2017, in the Cino Theater at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets.

TV IN MY BONES is a world of related, quirky short romantic comedies for TV junkies, stalkers, futurists, and the cultured set - in which colorful characters desperately pursue love.

Ensemble Cast: Devon Caraway*, Phoebe Mar, Jason Nuzzo*, Peter Oliver*, Katelyn Pearce, Michael Pettey, Alexander Stine, and Gabriel Wright*. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

"After Tribes Players hiatus of a decade, I was inspired to bring this new C.S. Hanson play to Theater for the New City, the quintessential Off Off Broadway house here in the East Village, the neighborhood I've called home for nearly thirty years," said Steve Cannon, founder, A Gathering of the Tribes. "In this age where we often have more connection to our devices than one another, we're here to show that there is no substitute for live theater."

Tickets are $18 (preview tickets, $12); available at Smarttix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444. All details at www.facebook.com/TVINMYBONES/.

About the Producer: A Gathering of the Tribes is an arts and cultural organization dedicated to excellence in the arts from a diverse perspective. In 1991, Steve Cannon, poet, playwright, novelist, and retired professor from the City University of New York, converted a portion of his lower east side apartment into an informal salon. Despite his loss of eyesight to glaucoma, he encouraged the exchange of alternative points of view traditionally overlooked by mainstream media. The ideas raised in the discussions served as inspiration to the pieces later published in A Gathering of the Tribes Magazine.

About the Playwright: C.S. Hanson is an award-winning playwright based in NYC. Credits include: Play productions in NYC (Cherry Lane, Fringe Festival, Theater for the New City, The Brick, Metropolitan Playhouse, Estrogenius, 3Graces); Miami (CityTheatre), Washington, D.C. (The Source), Pittsburgh (New Works Festival), Denver (The Three Leaches), and Montreal (Montreal International Fringe Festival). Her work has been developed at The Lark, Culture Project, Lake George Theater Lab, EST, LaMaMa, Abingdon Theatre, Naked Angels, New Jersey Rep. Four of Hanson's plays have been named Heideman Award finalists at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Her plays are published by Smith and Kraus. Dramatists Guild member.
