Tremendous Machine, an of-the-minute sketch show from sixteen of New York's funniest comedians, will return to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre at midnight on May 13.
In 1973, an announcer exclaimed that Secretariat moved "like some Tremendous Machine." Similarly, the sketch show Tremendous Machine seems uniquely created for its task: to serve up a fast and furious hour of sketch comedy, written and performed by sixteen of UCB's funniest veterans. Tremendous Machine interweaves the events of the week with audience suggestions to create an of-the-minute living sketch show.
Tremendous Machine was conceived and is directed by Caitlin Tegart (Vag Magazine, The Pretty Good Sports Show). Kate McKinnon (Logo's The Big Gay Sketch Show, Adult Swim's Venture Brothers), John Murray (30 Rock), D'Arcy Carden (Animal Planet's Pet-O-Rama), Leslie Meisel (30 Rock, Love Can Suck a Dick...And So Can I!), Tim Dunn (Animal Planet's Pet-O-Rama), Fran Gillespie (UCB house teams Onassis and The Law Firm) and Nate Lang (UCB house team The Law Firm) star. Tremendous Machine is written by Caitlin Tegart, Leila Cohan-Miccio (Vag Magazine, This Is About Smith), Matt Fisher (Sidecar, Illuminati Brothers), Beth Appel (UCB house teams Neighbor Boy and CAPTCHA), Frank Hejl (UCB house teams Onassis and CAPTCHA), Chris Schell & Alex Scordelis (UCB house team Thunder Gulch), and Michael Trapp (Popzilla).
This month, Tremendous Machine will be performed at midnight on Friday, May 13 at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (307 W. 26th Street). Tickets are $5 and can be reserved here.
