About the show: Two teenagers set their love against the weight of the hate and violence of Verona. Married in secret, they hope for some reprieve from their families ancient feud, but hope fails when new blood is spilled, and Romeo and Juliet find themselves alone against the world.
Their tragic end offers a new beginning and a cruel cure for the city's unrest. In a style inspired by Italian neo-realist films like Rome and Open City, director Anya Saffir helms an all-male ensemble cast that allows this classic story to be seen anew.
Michael Piazza as Romeo and John Early (30 Rock) as Juliet lead the cast of 15 that includes Paul Corning, Sam Dash, Clayton Early, Paul Eddy, Chris Hale, Matt Hanson, Glenn Hergenhahn, Will Irons, Dan Jones, Vladimir Margolin, John-Michael Scapin, Scott Walker, and Ben Weaver.
The design team includes set and lights by Gabriel Evansohn and costumes by Katja Andreiev. The fight choreographer is Turner Smith. The dance choreographer is Alison Beatty.
