After bursting onto the New York theater scene in 2013 with back-to-back, critically-acclaimed productions, Three Day Hangover has planned a stellar 2014 season, announced today by co-artistic directors David Hudson, Beth Gardiner and Lori Wolter Hudson. The company will continue bringing innovative, joyful productions of classic plays to bars. This spring, they will produce Twelfth Night infused with a New York flair and a live band karaoke. Come summer, they'll shake things up by adding Chekhov to the mix in a vodka-soaked adaptation of Uncle Vanya. They'll finish the year with a Super-Secret Smash-Up of two Shakespeare plays combined into one, unique event. The company will kick off its season with a Big Boozy Benefit to be held on March 30, 2014 at 7pm at Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen Street (between East Houston and Stanton) in NYC.

Three Day Hangover is a New York City theater company that produces fresh, unexpected, immersive, joyful productions of classic plays in bars. We tell great stories and celebrate some of the most beautiful language in the world. We meet our audiences on their turf. We want our audiences to have a beer and relax. Then we want them to lean forward and get swept up in a story told in a way they've never seen before. Three Day Hangover's inaugural productions enjoyed rave reviews, sold out runs, extensions, and most importantly, some of the feistiest, most engaged audiences midtown has ever seen.

The low-down from Three Day Hangover on their freaking awesome 2014 Season:

ONE NIGHT ONLY! - Three Day Hangover's Big Boozy Benefit - March 30, 2014 7pm
Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen Street, NYC

We're kicking off our 2014 season with a starry night of music and a really great party. With highlights from past productions and teasers for the upcoming season, the main event will be songs from Beyond Measure, a brand new, rock-musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure by Phil Pickens, Raife Baker and Lori Wolter Hudson. Like everything else Three Day Hangover does, this event will be rowdy, fun and full of surprises. A bunch of fancy Broadway, film and TV stars, including FRANKIE J. ALVAREZ (HBO's Looking), NICK CHOKSI (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), KELLI GIDDISH (Law & Order: SVU), LAUREN MOLINA (Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd), and ROB MORRISON (Avenue Q) will join the party, rock out and raise a glass in support of the rest of our season.

SPRING 2014 - Twelfth Night

New York is a city of lovers, fools and mad men. It's a city of travelers and transplants chasing dreams that would seem impossible anywhere else. What better backdrop for Shakespeare's story of missed connections, frustrated love and the audacious pursuit of happiness? Beth Gardiner (The HAMLET Project: Summer in the City) will direct an updated, music-infused Twelfth Night for our times and our city. We'll drink. We'll sing. Maybe you'll sing, too. Be ready for fun, unexpected, intimate Shakespeare with a twist (or an olive).

SUMMER 2014 - Uncle Vanya

That's right, people. CHEKHOV. Last year we celebrated the dog days of summer with hipster Hamlet and company; this summer, let's drink with angsty Russians! What could be more refreshing than slinging back some chilled vodka with Vanya on 44th Street? Lori Wolter Hudson (R+J: Star-Cross'd Death Match) will direct a vodka-soaked Uncle Vanya, complete with shots of all kinds.

FALL 2014 - Two-for-One Shakespeare

Hold on to your hats, because Three Day Hangover is planning to combine TWO of Shakespeare's plays into ONE event for your entertainment and drinking pleasure. Like tequila and lime, gin and tonic, stout beer and chocolate cake, each of our two stories will bring out amazing qualities and tones in the other. Co-directed by Beth Gardiner and Lori Wolter Hudson, this incredible evening promises to present Shakespeare in a way you've never seen before. Your 3DH mixologists will dish up romance, magic, mayhem and drinking. These are a few of our favorite things.

Another exciting project:

DRUNK SHAKESPEARE

In early 2014, Three Day Hangover was commissioned to create and direct a brand new theatrical event called DRUNK SHAKESPEARE. Four, classically trained actors perform one of Shakespeare's plays, BUT...one of them has been drinking! An evening of outrageous antics, drunken rants, and fantastic Shakespeare will ensue. Created by Three Day Hangover and directed by David Hudson, performances begin March 24, 2014 and run Monday-Sunday through June 12, 2014 upstairs at Quinn's NYC (346 W 44th Street at 9th Ave).
