Three Act Theatre announces its production of Chaundria & The Giant. This new musical written by Janine Robledo and Micah Joel will get its world premiere workshop production this winter. Directed by Eric Mark Olson, Co-Music Directed by Zachary Orts & Andrew David Sotomayor, Choreographed by Krista Saab, and featuring a talented cast of students & professionals led by Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld* and Adrian Rifat, the musical follows a giant trying to become a doctor and a hypochondriac/agoraphobic princess trying to live a solitary life. The two must wrestle with their inner (and outer) demons that stand in the way of their dreams while helping a medieval town battle the Black Plague. Chaundria & The Giant will have performances at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (248 West 60th Street) on February 20th and 21st (with performances at 7pm both evenings.)

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center encourages the love of dance and the joy of movement through teaching, creative collaboration and performance in a state-of-the-art studio and theater complex located near Lincoln Center.

Chaundria & The Giant features book and lyrics by Janine Robledo and music by Micah Joel. The two wrote the first act of the musical for Three Act Theatre's Summer Immersion Program (2014) and completed the full-length musical for this winter's world premiere with the company.

The cast features Hanna Burke, Micaela De Lauro, Julia DiVerglio, Jack Eagle, Cindy Finegan, Sarah Fruchtman, Stephanie Garcia, Joseph Hitchcock, Katelynn Joy Kenney, Vivian Melder, Yurika Ohno, Eric Mark Olson*, Drew Seigla*, Spencer Stevens, Adrian Rifat, Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld*, Al Roths, Amari Smith, Michael Strauss, Jada Williams. "Colby has come upon the town of Mirkwalden, hoping to study medicine and not be judged for being a giant. Princess Chaundria lives in a tower nearby, keeping herself busy baking, planting and doing anything to avoid leaving the dangers in the world outside. When fate brings Colby & Chaundria together, the two form an unlikely bond as they find themselves on an adventure to save Mirkwalden, and all its wacky inhabitants, from the Black Plague."

Three Act Theatre (TAT) is a new NYC theatre organization whose mission is to nurture a new generation of actors (ages 12 - adult) by providing them with training as they work alongside more seasoned actors and teaching staff. With goals of inclusiveness in its population, audience, and subject matter, the company has offered full and partial scholarships to its tuition-based intensive training and performance workshops.

Summer Immersion Program (SIP) is a 3 Week - 16 Session Theatre Training Program that is an immersion into a professional workshop production of a new musical. Students receive Triple Threat Training which is designed to offer the singer / dancer / actor technical training that will prepare them for musical theatre auditions in their future, and allow them the room to reach their own next level of mastery. They also have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside the adult company members in rehearsal and production, staging an original musical at the conclusion of SIP. This summer's production will be "A Pie-Rat's Tale" (written specially for Three Act Theatre.) Auditions for summer 2015's SIP program will be February 28th @ Nola Studios, NYC 1-4:30pm.

Tickets for the world premiere of Chaundria & The Giant are $18 General Admission and can be purchased online at ticketfly.com or by phone at 877.987.6487.
