Robin Amos Kahn and Gary Richards' Scrambled Eggs, directed by Matthew Penn, will be getting the New York treatment. It will get its New York premiere on April 23 at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre at 410 West 42 Street. The show will open on April 27, and play through May 11.
Scrambled Eggs, produced by John Howard Swain, Summer Crockett Moore and Abigail Hastings, will precede Anita Loos' Happy Birthday in the 2012/2013 season. The comedy follows the hectic life of heroine Karen Hoffman (Amy Van Nostrand). The audience is taken on the journey that is Hoffman's chaotic life-her sexual awakenings, dysfunctional parents, and struggles with dating, marriage, and parenthood.
Star of Scrambled Eggs, Amy Van Nostrand, has credits in television, stage, and film. She was most recently seen in Off the King's Road. Scrambled Eggs comes from the minds of award winning screenwriters and playwrights: Kahn is the winner of the Wisconsin Screenwriter's Forum Best Screenplay and was the Nicholl Fellowship Quarter Finalist for her piece The Wives Are in Connecticut. Richards' Second Summer won Best Play Award at the Colleagues Theatre Company. Director Matthew Penn has also gained recognition for his television work, which includes Law and Order, Damages, House, and Private Practice. He earned an Emmy nomination for his direction of Law and Order's 200th episode guest starring Julia Roberts.
The show will play Tuesdays at 7 PM, and Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM.
