Following its sold-out sneak preview July run, Tom Jones returns to TNC. Theater for the New City will present "Tom Jones" - new musical adaption of Henry Fielding's novel, written and composed by John Taylor Thomas (Pride and Prejudice, Oh Pioneers, Return of the Native and the much lauded Platinum Taps).
Directing, dramaturgy and additional lyrics and dialogue by playwright/director Lissa Moira (Who Murdered Love [2012 Fringe NYC], Before God was Invented [a 2007 Susan Brownwell-Smith International Award Nominee], TIME IT IS [Finalist for the Chester Field/Paramount International Screenwriting Award] [Ms. Moira is a two time Jerome Foundation Grantee]. With a cast of fourteen extremely gifted actor/singer/dancer "Tom Jones" promises to be a raunchy, ribald, rambunctious, rollicking, romp done in period dress (18th century) with a soupçon of social commentary.
