Theater Reconstruction Ensemble (John Kurzynowski, Artistic Director; Reed Whitney, Producing Director) proudly presents the World Premiere of You On The Moors Now, written by Jaclyn Backhaus and directed by John Kurzynowski. You On The Moors Now runs from February 13 - 28, 2015 in a limited engagement at HERE, located at 145 6th Avenue (Enter on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring) in New York City.

Performances are Wednesdays through Sundays at 8:30pm with added Saturday matinees at 4pm. There is an additional show on Monday, February 23 at 8:30pm. Tickets are $18. Purchase at http://here.org or by calling 212-352-3101. The running time is 90 minutes.

You On The Moors Now is a grand theatrical examination of four well-known literary heroines of the 19th-century and their shocking rejection of the men who so ardently loved them. What results is a confluence of love, anger, grief, haunting, bloody battles and single tears shed by an ensemble of actors struggling to reconcile the romantic confines of the past with their own contemporary ideas of courtship. You On The Moors Now takes everything you've ever learned about love, gleaned from the pages of Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and Little Women, and puts it somewhere in the tall grasses, hidden from view, where only the truly brave will ever traverse to earn it.

Theater Reconstruction Ensemble's shows have been called "rewarding and exhilarating" (Back Stage), "bold, dynamic and utterly captivating" (Show Business), "fun and vibrant" (NYTheatre.com), "fearless and engaging" (Theatre Is Easy), "entertaining and provocative" (Letters From The Mezzanine) and "impeccable" (East Village Arts).

The ensemble includes Harlan Alford (Talking Band's The Golden Toad & Marcellus Shale at La MaMa), Michael Barringer (member of Caborca Theatre and Rady&Bloom), Nathaniel Basch-Gould (Benye the Miller with Target Margin), Sam Corbin (Too Many Lenas at Ars Nova), Eben Hoffer (TRE ensemble member), Lena Hudson (Debutante at Ars Nova), Emily Marro (Streep Show at Ars Nova), Preston Martin (Elizabeth Swados' La Mama Cantata), Anastasia Olowin (The Killer with Theatre for a New Audience), Jon Riddleberger (National tour of War Horse with National Theatre), Kelly Rogers (Pipeline Theatre's Clown Bar at The Box), Claire Rothrock (Pipeline Theatre's Clown Bar at The Box), Patrick Scheid (Zara Notes at HERE) and Lauren Swan-Potras (Square Peg & Round Hole with Tectonic Theater Project).

The production team includes Joseph Wolfslau (Set and Costume Design), Marika Kent (Lighting Design), Alex Hawthorn (Sound Design) and Reed Whitney (Producer).

Jaclyn Backhaus (Playwright) is the Resident Playwright and a founding member of Theater Reconstruction Ensemble, and a member of TRE's 2016 Ensemble. Theater Reconstruction Ensemble is a New York based non-profit collective of theater artists striving to reconstruct both classical and canonical forms of theatricality through the playful development of works over time. Committed to a collaborative approach to theater making, TRE functions as an ensemble of actors, playwrights, designers, and directors working together to thoroughly examine each element of a theatrical text or tradition and build productions that reflect the ensemble's personal connection to the works being explored.

Founded in 2010, TRE has since created and developed five full productions, including Jaclyn Backhaus' critically-acclaimed Set in the Living Room of a Small Town American Play and The Three Seagulls, or MASHAMASHAMASHA!, and the company's first fully devised piece Salesmen: a meditation on masculinity and the American REAL!, and has brought together dozens of artists from across the downtown theater community through developmental workshops and programs for emerging artists such as chemis|TRE and TRE|haus.
