The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, will present {Your Name Here} Queer Theater Company's Summer Shorts as part of The Tank's LGBTQ Pride Festival. Your Name Here (David Macke, Artistic Director) offers a fun evening of four short plays by queer playwrights that range from a chance encounter in a hotel room to finding love within the arms of a puma to finding something remarkably in common with one's own bully. The shows will be performed on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at 5 pm at The Tank. Tickets are on sale at www.thetanknyc.org.

Summer Shorts features the following four plays: "Edgar and Patrick" by Ken Urban (The Correspondent at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre), "Pocket Universe" by Duncan Pflaster (The Tragedy of Dandelion at Urban Stages), "Big Al" by Juan C. Sanchez (Paradise Motel Miami Theater Center), and "Singer Clashes with Cougar" by Sandra de Helen (Blue Roses).

The Equity Approved Showcase will be directed by Christian Coulson (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Gayby, Love Is Strange) and will feature Pun Bandhu (Wit on Broadway), Ryan Barry (In The Summer Pavilion at E59E59), Blake Daniel, Bianca Leigh (Transamerica), Sarah Lord, Eva Ludwig, Jake Mosser (The Awesome 80's Prom), Kieran Mulcare (Fox's The Following), Andrew Rincon, Sheilagh Weymouth, and Dathan B. Williams (The Harlem Shakespeare Festival)

Pride Fest is a wide variety of performances and discussions surrounding the topics of gender, sexuality and equality. The works presented will evoke and give way to new ideas and perceptions on how we define ourselves, within our own community and in the global community at large. Whether through unity or discordance, these performances and discussions, workshops and forums, will shed light on the rich, dynamic individuals and groups who make up the vibrant LGBTQ community. July 11-13 at The Tank, 151 West 46th Street, 8th Floor, NY, NY.

Founded in 2003 by nine emerging artists, The Tank has since provided an artistic home for thousands of New York City-based performers. The Tank provides free performance space and a suite of other benefits for emerging artists and artists experimenting within their art form. Artists who have presented work at The Tank early on in their careers include Alex Timbers (Tony-nominated theater director), Reggie Watts (theater performer/ comedian/ musician currently on the IFC TV show Comedy Bang! Bang!), Amy Herzog (Pulitzer Prize- nominated playwright), Lucy Alibar (whose one-act play Juicy and Delicious premiered at The Tank and was adapted to be the Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild), and We Are Scientists (rock band). The Tank has been honored with an official City Council proclamation, chosen for the WNYC *STAR* initiative, and featured on CNN, BBC, ABC World News Now, the NY Times, and more.

The Tank is currently preparing for several summer festivals, including Dark Fest, for which performers receive no ancillary power and must provide their own light and sound sources, and Noir Fest, a series of performances and events playing with the noir aesthetic and taking a cold, hard look at crime in NYC.
