Later the three works were combined in the Broadway musical “Fanny” and the motion picture of the same name. The trilogy is being filmed again at this moment by the great French actor Daniel Auteuil. MARIUS explores life’s mysteries and all its glories through the delightful inhabitants of the Bar de la Marine. It chronicles the trials of the young, daydreaming bartender Marius, who while desperate for a life at sea (and elsewhere) is torn by his love for the beautiful 18 year old Fanny.
