Gentlewoman is the story of socialite, Mrs. Gwyn Ballantine, who falls for the "inspired Bohemian" Rudy Flannigan. After her husband is caught committing scandalous business deals, Gwyn is tempted to pursue her passions for the poet Flannigan, despite their conflicting social standing. Can she turn her back on her privileged status and extravagant tastes in the name of love?
Directed by Gregory Victor, the Gentlewoman cast includes the talents of Re:Group actors George Bartenieff (Broadway's Merchant of Venice), Emily Ciotti, Meredith Collins, Jamie Effros, Eugene Fertemeyster, JacK Gilbert, Linda Glick (HBO's Too Big To Fail), Kelsey Moore, Allie Mulholland (off-Bway's Rebel Without a Cause), Ross Nathan, Dana Panepinto, & Shelley Valfer.
THE RE:GROUP THEATRE COMPANY is a non-profit company born to present new and old, thought-provoking, relevant theatre. Their motto is "Theatre Rehab." Believing that the audience should leave the theatre differently from when they entered, they will present theatrical experiences with the same vision of The Group Theatre: "Propaganda for a better life." They plan to publish a collection of the "lost" Group plays later this year, as well as present the first full production in 80 years of the Group's play '1931-'.
