After a successful run of shows beginning in October of 2017, The PIT announces that it will bring back family-friendly musical "Pluto Is Missing! A Not-So-Planetary Musical" this coming fall. The popular show, which follows the former planet Pluto on a fantastical journey through the universe, has one show left in its spring season before a summer break.
Originally set to close June 24th, the musical will re-open for a September to December 2018 slate of performances. Tickets for the new dates will be on sale in the near future at https://thepit-nyc.com/events/pluto
Over the course of 26 shows spanning from October to present, the small-but-mighty musical has garnered positive reactions from parents and kids alike. Members on Show Score have given the show an 85, describing it as "Funny, absorbing, clever, delightful, exquisite." Said one user, "See it if you want to enjoy a lovely nerdy clever adorable space show with your child. Parents and child all had a fabulous funny time. Very unique."
The show has also been visited by a number of enthusiastic birthday parties and groups from local schools. Said the show's creator Chris Mann, "It's been amazing to see so many kids laughing and singing and getting excited about science." His co-writer Emily Duncan continued, "We're absolutely thrilled to keep the show going and have more young people, families, and friends of all ages join on us this journey."
The cosmic story of Pluto's demotion brings the young and young-at-heart a message of self-acceptance through music and humor that is, if you'll forgive the pun, universal.
About the show:
