The Bushwick Starr will present the world premiere of MILES FOR MARY, created by The Mad Ones, directed by Lila Neugebauer -- a bittersweet missive about endurance and surrender.

It's 1988, and the planning committee for Garrison High School's ninth annual Miles For Mary Telethon is fired up and ready to go. Across subcommittee sessions in the Phys Ed teachers' lounge, Drama Desk-nominated The Mad Ones assemble an analog elegy to the camcorder 1980s, Girls Track and Field, and the consecrated American High School.

Miles for Mary was commissioned and developed through the support of The Bushwick Starr, with additional developmental support from Ars Nova.

Performed by Marc Bovino, Joe Curnutte, Michael Dalto, Amy Staats, Stephanie Wright Thompson, and Stacey Yen. Scenic design by Amy Rubin, costume design by Ásta Bennie Hostetter; lighting design by Mike Inwood; sound design by Stowe Nelson.

The Bushwick Starr theater is located at 207 Starr Street, Brooklyn, NY [between Irving and Wyckoff]. Via Subway take the L Train to Jefferson Street, exit at Starr Street, walk against traffic on Starr, and the theater is 3/4 of a block on the right. For detailed driving directions, visit www.thebushwickstarr.org/DIRECTIONS. Tickets are $20.00 at www.thebushwickstarr.org.

The Drama Desk-nominated The Mad Ones are an NYC-based company dedicated to creating visceral, ensemble-driven, highly detailed theatrical experiences that examine and illuminate American nostalgia. Since 2009, The Mad Ones have emerged as a vibrant, unique player in New York City's downtown theater scene, accumulating significant accolades and critical praise for their Performer Trilogy: Samuel & Alasdair: A Personal History of the Robot War (The New Ohio, Ars Nova, The Brick); The Tremendous Tremendous (The Brick); and The Essential Straight & Narrow (The New Ohio), including multiple New York Times Critics' Picks, a Drama Desk nomination, New York Magazine's Top 10 of 2012, and several American Theatre Wing's Henry Hewes Design Award nominations.

The Mad Ones consist of co-Artistic Directors Marc Bovino (writer/performer), Joe Curnutte (writer/performer), Stephanie Wright Thompson (writer/performer), and Lila Neugebauer (writer/director). They work in conjunction with company members Michael Dalto (writer/performer/music director), Laura Jellinek (sets), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (costumes), Mike Inwood (lights), Sarah Lunnie (dramaturgy), and Stowe Nelson (sound).

The Mad Ones have developed work through the support of The Bushwick Starr, the Archive Alliance Residency, SPACE on Ryder Farm, LMCC's Process Space, Drop Forge & Tool Creative Residency, and are currently under commission from Ars Nova where they are company-in-residence.
