The Gallery Players announces cast and crew for its production of Craig Lucas', Reckless. Directed by The Gallery Players' Artistic Director, Heather Siobhan Curran and produced by the theatre's Executive Director, Neal J. Freeman, Reckless opens at The Gallery Players Saturday December 3.
On Christmas Eve, Rachel is informed by her guilty husband that he has hired a hitman to kill her. Scrambling out the kitchen window into the snowy night, she embarks on a manic journey involving a deaf woman in a wheelchair (or is she?), numerous psychiatrists, a TV game show, and her own increasingly shaky sanity. Craig Lucas' Reckless is a zany, comic, and ultimately poignant reflection on living in, and escaping from, the past. The New York Times calls Reckless, "A bittersweet Christmas fable for our time. Reckless has an emotional pull akin to that of a Crosby ballad born of the lonely World War II home front."
Reckless stars Carey Van Driest* (Robin Hood w/Maureen McGovern; The Importance of Being Earnest, Arms and the Man, Jean Cocteau Rep) as Rachel, and features Jan-Peter Pedross* (The Drowsy Chaperone, TGP) as Lloyd, Zac Hoogendyk* (Dancing at Lughnasa, TGP, Cleveland Play House) as Tom, Lauren Roth (2011 NYIT Best Featured Actress nominee, Billy Carver and the Children in Mind) as Pooty, Lara Knox* (company member, Ohio Shakespeare Festival; Apple Tree, Pennsylvania Center Stage) as Trish, Allison Moody* as The Doctors and Jason Jacoby as Roy, Tim, and others. *Appearing courtesy Actor's Equity Association.
