FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with The Dirty Blondes and Rebecca Aparicio will present The Resister Project, a variety show of performances inspired by the recent Presidential election outcome.

The production will run today, January 4, through January 15 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances on Wednesday, January 4, Thursday, January 5, Friday, January 6, Saturday, January 7, Thursday, January 12, Friday, January 13, Saturday, January 14 & Sunday, January 15 at 7pm. Tickets ($15) may be purchased in advance at www.horseTRADE.info. Proceeds will go to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Responding to a divisive political campaign, The Resister Project is a variety show of performances featuring 10-new plays, stand-up comedy, music and poetry. By and for the community of indie theater artists to partake in peaceful resistance through the power of live performance, every night will also feature dialogues and talkbacks.

Featuring new short plays by a diverse group of artists responding to and reflecting on the violent rhetoric used in the campaign, the overt sexism and xenophobia that proliferated public discourse, particularly on social media that seemed to usher in a new era of fear and intolerance. Each play is an act of resistance against fear and intolerance in the artists' own words.
