Action Philosophers is in its Final Weekend! There is a crazy new thing called Livewriting and a New Play Reading Series - The Oven and Puppetsburg Entertains Brooklyn Babies.

The SMASH hit of The Comic Book Theater Festival returns. The award-winning, best-selling comics series Action Philosophers is adapted for the stage by award-winning playwright Crystal Skillman and directed by John Hurley as the lives and thoughts of history's A-list brain trust leap to the stage in manic, hilarious fashion.

Come meet PLATO-Wrestling Superstar of Ancient Greece! NIETZSCHE-The Original Übermensch! The torrid love affairs of Ayn Rand! And more! From Impetuous Theater Group who brought you Hack! an I.T. Spaghetti Western (a hit at both last year's Too Soon festival and the Vampire Cowboys Saloon Series) Action Philosophers! is a must see, not to mention cheaper than a liberal arts degree-and a whole lot more fun, too!

Based on the Comic Book by Fred Van Lente & Ryan Dunlavey and Written by Crystal Skillman and Directed by John Hurley. Starring Neimah Djourabchi, Joseph Mathers, Timothy McCown Reynolds, Matthew Trumbull, Kristen Vaughn, & C.L. Weatherstone

It performs Thu 10/6 - Sun 10/16, Thu & Fri @ 8pm, Sat & Sun @ 7pm. Tickets are $18. For tickets visit https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/122.

See Plays Get Written and Performed Before Your Very Eyes! By Playwrights! And Actors!

The Brick Theater, Inc. and the One Minute Play Festival present LIVEWRITING.

Playwrights have it tough under the best of circumstances. What happens when they have to do their thing live on stage for a paying audience?

In honor of the 5th Annual New York One-Minute Play Festival, the OMPF asked some of its favorite alumni playwrights to go back to where the festival began: The Brick! In teams, they will write several short plays over the course of the evening, which will be performed by actors in real time!
Written by OMPF Alumni Playwrights: Michael Bradford, Michael Criscuolo, John DeVore, Laurel Haines, Lisa Huberman, Leslie Kramer, Courtney Lauria, Jessica Litwak, Maya MacDonald, Daniel McCoy, Carrie Louise Nutt, Erica Saleh, Megan Sass, Crystal Skillman, Jonathan Tarlin

And Starring a Bevy of Brooklyn's Best-Looking Actors!

Created by Dominic D'Andrea and Jeff Lewonczyk and Curated and Hosted by Jeff Lewonczy

Presented on Fri 10/14 @ 10pm. Tickets are $5 - First Come, First Served.

Submissions are now being accepted for THE OVEN, A New Play Reading Series.
