THE SEASON:

August 6 - 29, 2010
Gemini CollisionWorks presents
THE COLLISIONWORKS 2010: DEVILS & SPACEMEN FROM SPACE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Xgm1u_SF4
http://collisionwork.livejournal.com

DEVILS by John Whiting (the basis for Ken Russel's controversial film) A dark and disturbing true story from the 17th Century -- Grandier, a politically minded and popular priest who acts as a second governor of the walled city of Loudon in France, runs afoul of the plans of Cardinal Richelieu, who is unable to control the city until a cloister of nuns in the city accuse Grandier of being in league with demons that possess them. The outcome involves a show trial, some vicious
torture, and a terrible execution.

SPACEMEN FROM SPACE by Ian W. Hill
Based on the b-picture serials of the 1930s and 40s, SPACEMEN FROM SPACE is an original play told in six episodes of a serial featuring singing cowboys, gangsters, g-men, aliens, mad scientists, good
scientists, reporters, masked supervillains, kid sidekicks, and annoying, unfunny comic reliefs. All in a complex, barely understandable conflict over world domination.

We are Italian, we are Polish, we are Jewish, we are Catholic, we are immigrants, we are natives, we are many other things and we are proud of our heritage. We live shoulder to shoulder in this bustling city, but we don't know each other's names. And we rarely hear each other's stories. On October 2nd, The Brick Theater Inc. invites you to hear TRUE STORIES from The Brick's Brooklyn neighbors, colleagues, shopkeeps, baristas, leaders, friends and family. Many generations! Multiple cultures, backgrounds and nationalities!!!

DMT presents PLAN NINE FROM OUTER SPACE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st5LleaIXWQ
http://dm-theatrics.com

DMT once again teams up with The Brick theater of Williamsburg to bring you more unadulterated pop culture insanity - a theatricalization of "the worst movie ever made" -- PLAN NINE FROM
OUTER SPACE! DMT was one of the first to bring the works of the infamous Ed Wood to the stage. Plan Nine from Outer Space was performed for one performance as a special "Easter Egg" staging for patrons of the legendary 2000 EdFest of Todo Con Nada in the Glory Days of turn-of-the-century indie theater. This updated, all-new, high-octane production is the first time most theater aficionados will have the chance to see this classic of junk cinema on stage! Flying saucers! Zombie goth girls! Brave and bumbling police cops! ALL IN LIVE ACTION IN AMAZING THEATRIVISION!

SPECIAl HallOWEEN NIGHT BLOWOUT!! Come for the Plan Nine, stay for GOGO DANCING, BURLESQUE, EXCLUSIVE ONE-NIGHT-ONLY SPECIAL GUESTS AND MORE! Directed by Frank Cwiklik (Director of "Orgy of the Dead" and "Two Gentlemen of Lebowski")

October 14 - 30, 2010
Laboratory Theater presents
GIT ALONG LIL DOGGIES
http://vimeo.com/8540538
http://www.laboratorytheater.org

"Brokeback Mountain" meets "Naked Lunch" in Laboratory Theater's newest work, a cowboy dance-drama about the spiritual imprint of the windswept landscape of the American west. In an impressionistic narrative inspired by the work of William S. Burroughs and Annie Proulx, two outlaws conjure the violent forces of nature through sex-magic to take revenge on an old adversary. Commingling elements of country-western line dance and gay pornography, the performance
unfolds against a projected video landscape of repainted Marlboro cigarette TV commercials and within an immersive soundscape incorporating contemporary new age music for pedal steel guitar.
Directed by Yvan Greenberg, with Corey Dargel, Sheila Donovan, Oleg Dubson, and Wil Smith.

November 4 - 21
Target Margin Theater
TARGET MARGIN PRESENTS THE TMT LAB
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUqTUrlak3Y
http://www.targetmargin.org

For its 20th anniversary season, Target Margin Theater will present a core sample of the work we have become known for, looking to the styles, sources and challenges they have been inspired by. Kicking off the season will be their annual Laboratory at The Brick. The TMT Lab serves to give their audience a richer context for our work while also giving associated artists, both established and emerging, the fun of creating work and engaging in the larger cultural conversation. The TMT Lab at The Brick will consist of three week-long productions delving into the Target Margin aesthetic: one piece of experimental writing, one lesser-known classic and one work of music-theater or opera. Artist roster and more details to come SOON!

December 2 - 19, 2010

After the smash success of 2009's Fight Fest, The Brick Theater Inc. will continue to "fight" to change that in FIGHT FEST 2-a three week theater festival of fight choreography!

Famed fight companies and artists return to The Brick, the primary festival for stage combat arts around the world!
