Taxdeductible Theatre announces the 18th installment of The Dare Project; world premiere ten minute plays, written on a dare.
Here's how it works: Each writer is dared by the community to write a ten-minute play. The dare can be anything-a genre, a line of dialogue, a character, whatever idea they want to commission our company to develop. They put their dares into a hat, and Taxdeductible Theatre writers for the next production each take a shot of tequila, reach into the hat and draw their dares.
Once dared, the company has a month to develop the scripts, and then another month to rehearse. Then, ready or not, the play is presented in front of a packed house as a one-night-only event.
And for the 18th installment, they're doing something a little different. Instead of five writers working from five different dares, we have pulled ONE dare out of the hat and ALL FIVE WRITERS will cover that single dare. The dare is...

"We fight about the little things so we can ignore the big things."

But then, this same dare and the plays that are presented at The Dare Project #18 will be the foundation of a year long development process which will result in Taxdeductible Theatre's first ever full length off-broadway production in the fall of 2012.
Come and be a part of the most daring night of theater in New York.
