This September, Fresh Ground Pepper will host its 20th event since the company first kicked off in 2008. To celebrate, FGP will be undertaking one of the biggest and craziest new play festivals ever: 20 plays in one night. The catch: They're each only two minutes long.

Nothing is off limits, as these new plays will range from one person monologues, to new super short musicals, featuring as many artists as possible. Beyond your typical play readings, each piece will be given a full and talented team to bring these mini-masterpieces to their feet. In just two hours, FGP will flow seamlessly from play to play. FGP TWENTY! promises to be a fast-paced, raucous good time and an exciting taste of the ambitious season to come.

Fresh Ground Pepper is dedicated to keeping their events free. Sponsorships and collaborations with Six Point Craft Ale and The Tank allow for FGP to provide this service to the emerging New York City artistic community and their audience. FGP therefore encourages everyone to come drink and be merry. We will however suggest that you donate, and like the MET, give you a dirty look if you don't.

"This is a reading workshop as event, not just a performance, and the response seems to indicate that in that sense [Fresh Ground Pepper] has tapped into something quite fruitful." -Kevin Armento, BushwickBK.com

Fresh Ground Pepper is a multi-borough, diverse, monthly series for the development of new ideas. It is a place where artists of all mediums can bring new work into a performative space for experimentation, feedback, collaboration, and growth. We strive to provide a casual and supportive atmosphere where these artists can find a voice and begin to build a community around their work.
