Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU), in association with Weist Barron Studios and Paula J. Riley, presents an Actor Resource Night (and "Speed Dating") on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 7pm at Weist Barron Studios in New York. The event is a networking meeting, including casting directors Judy Bowman, Cahill Connolly of Casting Solutions, and Dani Super; photographer Blu Toth; coach Connie George; and five other coaches and website designers.

So what's this about "Speed Dating"? Is this a fix-up? Nah, it's nothing romantic. Is it an audition? Nah - no monolog slam, or need to be on. You don't even have to sign up for "Speed Dating" to party. It offers actors a chance to meet ten sponsoring hosts:

Judy Bowman - Judy Bowman Casting
Cahill Connolly - Casting Solutions
Dani Super - casting director, coach
Virginia Bartholomew - voice and speech coach
Penelope Bracket - career coach
Connie George - acting coach, Reiki master
Lisa Gold - career/marketing advisor
Amy Russ - ActorWebs
Sheree Sano - All Digital Video, Audio & Web Services
Blu Toth - Bluface Photography
Kevin Urban - SavvyActor

Speed Dating is an ongoing series of TRU actor evenings, there are ten stations each manned by a sponsor who offers a service. In groups of ten, actors each begin at a different station, spending three minutes finding out about the service offered or asking for advice, then move to the next station. As a thank you, each station offers a coupon for a discount or special offer (these offers are given only to people who go through Speed Dating). At the end of a thirty minute circuit, the next group of ten is brought in. In the meantime, refreshments are served, and the following opportunities are offered:

DISCUSSION GROUP
Evaluations and consultations are also available with TRU Literary and Casting Director Catherine Lamm and TRU Photographer Ellis Gaskell.
