UglyRhino Productions will present TinyRhino: Winter Edition on Tuesday, January 21st at 8 p.m. Come grab a drink (or two or three) and escape the cold with six brand new plays inspired by all things winter.
TinyRhino is: The Theatrical Drinking Game. It is also UglyRhino's take on the ten-minute play festival. Every month we commission six playwrights to write new plays, each including the same five dramatic elements. They might show up at any time, in any order, and with any frequency. When they do show up, they are cues for the audience to drink.
This month's playwrights include: Hammaad Chaudry (winner, Royal Court's Young Writers Festival), Carolyn Daucher (Scared of Sarah, FringeNYC), Ethan Dubin (Sleep Rock Thy Brain, Humana Festival), Laura Hirschberg (WorkShop Theater Company member), C.M. Moorhead (Hipster Clue), and Abby Rosebrock (Different Animals, Cherry Lane Studio).
This month's directors include: Ilana Becker (Argument Sessions, Dixon Place), Matt Dickson (The Man-Made Rock, East 4th Street Theatre), Lillian Meredith (I Had a Dream, SUPERWOLF), Lindsey Hope Pearlman (founding member, Up & Down Theatre Co.), Leta Tremblay (Diana Oh Is Going Rogue, terraNOVA Collective), and Gabriel Weissman (Asst. Dir., The Winslow Boy, Manhattan Theatre Club).
January's winter-themed elements will include: someone eats a marshmallow, someone breaks a New Year's resolution, someone describes a Yeti, someone mentions Seasonal Affective Disorder, and someone spikes a drink.
TinyRhino will be on Tuesday, January 21st at 8pm at Littlefield (622 Degraw Street between 3rd and 4th, Brooklyn). Tickets are $10 at the door, which includes one free beer. Every TinyRhino also features music, drink specials and giveaways, and a cocktail hour following the performance.
