For one night only, Dixon Place will present the workshop premiere of THE COMMERCIALLY UNVIABLE QUEER TRASH THEATRE CYCLE: a raucous and irreverent night of plays by Kev Berry, on July 28th at 7:30 presented as part of the 25th Annual Hot! Festival of queer culture.
The playlets question what it means to be queer in America by introducing you to a barefoot Contessa, talking vegetables, worrisome prairie cats, and the very gaytriarchy that holds it all together. Perhaps it's a hot mess All in the Timing.
Charles Quittner directs a cast of 11 LGBTQ+ luminaries featuring Matthew Hardy (LABYRINTH @ Abrons, FOSSE), Dillon Heape (Three Day Hangover's TARTUFFE), Chris Ignacio (MISS SAIGON), Alexander Paris (I'M BLEEDING ALL OVER THE PLACE @ La MaMa ETC ), Brian Reager, Yael Rizowy (HELD MOMENTARILY @ NYMF), Reb Robertson, Morgan Sullivan, Ry Szelong, Colin Waitt (KAPOW-I-GOGO, THE MYSTERIES), & Magen Ashley Young (VENICE DOUBLE FEATURE @ HERE). CUQT... features sounds by Ryan Thibeault and stage management by Anne Ciarlone (A DOLL'S HOUSE and THE FATHER @ TFANA).
Tickets are $12 for students, NYID carriers, and seniors, $15 in advance, and $18 at the door.
